President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to transform their grief into a renewed commitment to nation-building, urging citizens to work towards building a united and prosperous Ghana in memory of the eight victims of the military helicopter crash.

During a memorial ceremony on August 9, Mahama emphasized the need for unity and resilience in the face of tragedy, stressing that the greatest tribute to the fallen is to continue their work.

Mahama urged Ghanaians to focus on national development, transcending their differences and working tirelessly towards a common goal.

Legacy of the Victims: The victims, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, were dedicated public servants who served Ghana with their last breath.

Call to Action: Mahama emphasized that Ghanaians have a sacred duty to continue the work of the victims, building a Ghana of opportunity, justice, and prosperity for all.

The nation is set to bid farewell to two of the victims, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed and Muniru Mohammed, who will be buried on August 10, following a DNA analysis in South Africa that positively identified the remains of the victims.
